Wow what an end to a week of positive change within myself, the community of Bali and a profound positive effect on attendees both visiting and presenting at the Bali Spirit Festival 2015.
A mix of beneficial and inspirational traditions of Yoga, Dance, and Music, the BaliSpirit Festival illustrates the Balinese Hindu concept of Tri Hita Karana: living in harmony with our spiritual, social, and natural environments. The founders of the BaliSpirit Festival pledge to provide financial, logistical, and organizational support to local charities, with a special emphasis on children’s programs, multicultural education and performance, healthcare, HIV& AIDS awareness, and environmental conservation in Bali and greater Indonesia.
The BaliSpirit Festival was founded as a premier international and holistic wellness and world music destination event that contributes positively to the ecological health, cultural vibrancy, and overall vitality of Bali and greater Indonesia.
The Founders and Organisers certainly achieved their vision in abundance, the whole event was laid out perfectly, the schedule was organised in such a way to be able to achieve attendance of a mix of yoga, music and dance.
For me the greatest highlights were seeing so many beautiful, peaceful and loving people at one venue. All so individual in their style of dress, their interests and their own personal journeys of soul searching.
World class yogi practitioners, spiritual mentors, musicians, performers , artists and an eclectic mix of the planet's 'beautiful people' congregate on the Island of the Gods to offer a lovingly uplifting five days and five nights of pure entertainment and enlightenment – This is an international festival that cares and caters to a global audience in a way that deserves greater recognition for its humble achievements over the past seven years.
Started the week by attending a Breathing Workshop with Antonio Abbagnano and the Alchemy of Breath – now you may be thinking to yourself why should you attend a breathing workshop isn't it a skill that we are born with and comes naturally to us? Well yes, of course it does, but think about this for a moment, how often do we just sit and breath and really become aware of where our breath is.
Attending this workshop enabled me to really tune into my breath and explore areas both physically, mentally and spiritually I had never visited before and the changes in me after just a few workshops were profound in that I have a better understanding of my continued spiritual growth. I was then fortunate enough to interview Tony and get his own words on how we can breathe to bring about healing and transformational changes in ourselves. LIKE our page for the full interview
From breathing to full on high powered, full on energy of Marsala Bhangra Dancing with Sarina Jain – Who would have thought that Bhangra Dancing was so energetic, uplifiting and joyful to experience. Enhanced by Sarina's incredible enthusiasm, love and passion for bringing Marsala Bhangra Dancing to the masses. Already successful in the U.S and making a big impact on the Bali Spirit Festival attendees. We were blessed with an interview with Sarina – hear her story and her big WHY she does what she does with such determination, passion and energy by subscribing to this website, and as soon as it's ready I'll get it out to you.
We happened to bump into Kevin James Carroll during our walkabout at the Bali Spirit Festival and he was kind enough to grant us an interview. We subsequently attending his Bhakti evening at the Arma Museum and Resort and private Heartsong evenings with Kevin to further understand his message.
Kevin James’ music is a world fusion of Mantra and HeartSong chanting. Weaving ancient Mantra’s with his own prayers and hearts song, Kevin draws upon influences from traditional Indian Kirtan, Bhajans, Celtic and Sufi chants mixed with western folk sounds and world instruments.
Practicing Bhakti Yoga (The yoga of devotion) since his first visit to India in 1990, Kevin now leads devotional chanting circles and workshops all over the world.
The intention of his music is to empower the individual through reconnecting to the heart and to bring awareness of our oneness. Kevin believes that it is our disconnection from source that is the cause of all suffering.
